Major Upgrade :: A major restructure was undertaken throughout November/December 2009.  This move was initiated in an attempt to streamline our service.  There is nothing worse than trying to view clipart that is slow to load and cluttered with advertising.  While we have retained many of our genealogical and graphical sponsors, we have reduced the advertising footprint and trust that visitors will find exploring Vintage Kin a pleasurable web experience.  In an effort to keep the site fresh and interesting we plan to explore a number of new graphical options in 2010.  As new designs are introduced, those reaching legend status will be retired with grace to the image archive.  Note that archived graphics are still freely available to the public, we just thought you'd like something new!

Web Award Program Update :: As of January 2010 our awards program will no longer be available.  A list of previous award winners from 2006 to 2009 is available via the sponsorship page.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many website owners who have applied for VK awards over the past few years.  We have enjoyed the program immensely but the reality is that web reviews consume a large portion of our time.  We feel this time could be better spent perfecting our designs.  For those who like a little bit of site bling, please feel free to adopt one of our new appreciation badges on the sponsorship page.

NEW! Coming Soon ... Genealogy Wordpress Themes  ::  Although blogging has been around for many years, it's still a relatively new concept for us here at Vintage Kin.  Of particular interest is the recent increase in genealogy based blogs. They're the perfect platform for establishing like-minded research communities.  Not only are they constantly being updated, online communication is relatively easy.  As such, we have decided to concentrate our theme sets on the blog phenomena.  Previous HTML sets have been retired to the Image Archive.  Throughout 2010 we will be rolling out our new blog based designs.  Initially the focus will be on Wordpress themes as this appears to be a popular choice amongst bloggers.  Other formats will be considered at a later date.
